The following is a pic I took, it wasnt taken with a macro lens, but in lightroom I have a few options as far as views such as fit, fill, 1-1, and 1-2. heres my question....If I crop my photo to the area defined as 1-1, does that make it a macro...probably not due to the fact it wasnt 1-1 when I took the pic, right? But then again it says its 1-1 hence my confusion.Or is it actually selecting the same area that would be 1-1 on the sensor?

The 1-1 option in LR refers to image pixels to screen pixels. Each image pixel is displayed by one screen pixel. It is the same as displaying the image at 100%. It has nothing to do with being a macro. I believe that term refers to an image that is life size on the film/sensor.

In Lightroom, when using the crop tool, the numbers in the menu that pops up next to the padlock represent the photos aspect ration. So 1x1 would mean the photos height and width are equal. 4x3 would mean the width is 33% wider than it is high, 16x9 is 78% wider than it is high, etc.

In the Navigator, Fit means that it fits the entire image, regardless of size into the workspace, Fill zooms the photo to fill the workspace, such that portions of the image will be outside the viewing window. 1:1 zooms the photo to 100% or the actual pixel size in the workspace, 2:1 zooms it to 200% of actual pixel size, etc.

In general, a macro photograph is an extreme closeup in which the size of the subject is greater than lifesize.

No, I call it as a "macro crop" not a 1:1 true macro shot.
