A tale of 4 packages. Camera gear, all.
Package 1 : Shipped from Virginia to me in west Texas. Location by days: VA, Knoxville, Prescott AZ, Houston, Dallas, Dallas, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Lubbock TX, Midland Tx, me. 11 total days and the route circled my location twice. (small item, free shipping from seller)
Package 2 : Shipped Last Thursday. Virginia, 46 miles north to Maryland, 24 miles back south to Martinsville WV (grand total of 46 miles from original location), Indianapolis, and Chicago today. Chicago!!! ...... At this rate it will reach the north pole by Tuesday. (heavier item, maybe 7 pounds, but charged 25 bucks to ship.)
Package 3 : Shipped from me Monday, delivered in the DC area this morning at 9:20 AM eastern, 48 hours. (8 dollar ship of a small 4 pound package)
Package 4 : Shipped from Miami area Monday, in my hand right now, less than 55 hours later. (Seller bargained for a 5 dollar ship fee, 2.5 pounds.)
I'd be curious to know if others have had this kind of discrepancy in service times. FedEx, and anyone shipping with them, are about to lose my business.
We're just supposed to guess which service handled which package????
Post said FedEX is losing my business.
I get this service all the time. My last box of prints shipped to to me via USPS was bent and the prints ruined--took four days from Maryland to Alexandria, IN. The replacements came by FedX in two days--just fine. I think I’ll stick with fedX and UPS.
I wonder if the weather played a role in all this - after all, it seems the Dallas area was pretty hard hit with rain and flooding, which may have contributed to some of the delays.

FEDX.... has changed, sometimes i get it next day, sometimes takes over a week. cost does not always make the difference. i usually can talk sweet and get free shipping..... not always... in the last month i had one from Fla. come the next day and one from my state, about 50 miles away, took 8 days.......go figure

I watched a package I sent with Priority Mail with USPS. It stopped 200 miles short of its' destination, was "out for delivery", then back two days later, and eventually was sent along. I think scanning errors might contribute to this...
Recently got two packages delivered by Fedex at two different times. The first was delivered to the wrong address even thought it had the correct address on the label. The second went to about 5 different places before arriving three days later than the predicted date. Starting to wonder too..
If you have time to spare, rely on your unreliable government. No wonder the USPS is effectively bankrupt.
Have been shipping exlusively by USPS and my complaint is not about the delivery time, it is the ESCALATING COSTS! Absolutely absurd for a small package. What used to cost perhaps $7 now is almost double.

I think that the USPS should be going up on the costs of Bulk Mail. Perhaps if they did that we wouldn't be inundated every day with mail that is 90% fodder for the shredder. It used to be that charities sent appeals about once a year. Now it is every single month.
I heard FedEx and UPS were going to merge. The new company name? FedUp!
I'm an ebayer and have shipped over 6,500 packages using USPS over last seven years. Most were shipped 1st class or priority mail. Only one was lost, one was returned bad address, one was damaged. We only remember the bad ones!! Never millions that got handled correctly.
FedEx has delivered packages addressed to me to wrong locations many times. UPS has been much more reliable. Before I retired, I requested that suppliers use UPS and avoid FedEx whenever possible.

Every time a delivery has been messed up, it's been FedEx. And I'm not talking about once every twenty years.
