Harleys made in Asia, now that's a different story.

That doesn't mean they can't run a sound track of it through speakers like the cars are doing. What a fake world we are living in. A paper moon in a cardboard sky?

Problem is that has been in the works for years now, same with GM and Ford moving their production out of the United States... apparently the Tariff is now just a cover for them to make it public

Same thing with Fords. I've owned THREE Fords in my 60 years of car ownership. ALL THREE were JUNK! The last one was towed in 3 times while still under warranty. NEVER AGAIN!

Harley has had this in the works long before any of Trump's changing of Tariffs.

A lot of high spec cars allow you to 'tune' your exhaust sound with the flick of an electronic switch.....So no reason why a hog couldn't.
Its also a pity that hybrid cars don't have this system....can't number the times I have walked across a carpark and nearly got clobbered by one of these silent movers. I don't want a klaxon on them ....merely an engine noise that you are aware of.

Just another S--FL--E, eh? What that will actually do is "help" Harley production to COME BACK to the USA., NOT CHASE THEM AWAY. Just guess that you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about economics !!!!!

Not the news story I saw from Harley. Has nothing to do with what I know about economics it was a news release I saw from Harley, looks like some of that right wing hate coming out I've been told about; however, I can't see how an increase costs in imported raw materials and parts will help Harley come back to the USA but then I'm just a dumb sh it who doesn't know anything about economics. They'll probably make the loss in profit by increasing the sales volume.

The news stories I've been hearing is that Harley is moving only the EU assembly to EU to avoid the EU tariffs. I figure that means the U.S. assembly will remain in the U.S. to avoid the U.S. import tariffs.

Harley-Davidson Plan to Move Production Abroad Draws Tax Threat From Trump

President Trump has often praised the Wisconsin-based motorcycle manufacturer, but its recent plans to shift some of its production overseas has angered Mr. Trump.Published OnJune 26, 2018CreditImage by Carlos Barria/Reuters

President Trump lashed out at one of his favorite American manufacturers on Tuesday, criticizing Harley-Davidson over its plans to move some of its motorcycle production abroad and threatening it with steep punitive taxes.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, the president accused the Wisconsin-based company of surrendering in Mr. Trump’s trade war with Europe and said the firm would lose its “aura” if it produced bikes overseas.

“If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end — they surrendered, they quit!” he wrote. “The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before!”

The attack came a day after Harley-Davidson announced that it would move some of its production abroad in response to stiff retaliatory tariffs that the European Union imposed in response to Mr. Trump’s trade measures. Rather than raise prices to cover the new 31 percent tariff on bikes it exports to the European Union, Harley said it would shift some of its production to overseas facilities to avoid the tariffs.

Europe targeted Harley-Davidson, an iconic American brand, after Mr. Trump imposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum.

On Tuesday, Mr. Trump accused Harley of using the trade dispute as an excuse to send offshore more jobs following the recent construction of a plant in Thailand. The suggestion echoed the sentiment expressed by one of the unions that represents Harley workers.

Harley’s Thai plant was developed to mitigate tariffs that are already in place in Asia. But the decision to move more production abroad came in direct response to new European tariffs that were imposed to punish American products from politically important states, like Wisconsin. Harley has not said where it will build the bikes for the European market or how many lost jobs in the United States might occur as a result.

All my good little Fords went heaven when they "passed-on" most with 200,000 to 300.000 miles on them .. I drove 110 miles Monday - Friday (sometimes Saturdays) for 33 years NEVER had to have a tow in all those years (it's called preventive maintenance .. works like a charm).I had a Pinto wagon, a Torino Wagon, E-150 Econoline, Aerostar, Tempo Diesel, Probe, 2 Fiestas, Range Pick-up (300,000+ miles), Explore Sports Trek, now a 2013 and 2018 Flex (love this vehicle)
I may have missed couple while reminiscing .. poit is they NEVER let me down cuz I took car of them.
