I don't mind paying sales tax mainly because I have no choice in my state and all the carping in the world won't help or change the situation. However, for all the folks who own businesses (huge or small), I just realized something. Because of the internet, you now have more sales which equal more profit so instead of griping about having to collect sales tax for another state from which you garnered more profit I would think you would be thankful for the extra profit and collect the tax gladly and keep your mouths shut! Just my two cents worth. Now BRING IT ON!

Casinos belong to individual tribes, not to 'the Native Americans' as a whole. That means that where one tribe might make money enough to get off 'welfare' another tribe that does't have a casino gets zip.

Correct. I live in Illinois.....and I wasn't talking about casinos....could care less about them. My comment regards taxation , especially sales tax. The american public is under the assumption they are ruled by the "law making" elites who have conned the public into "hiring" (voted) elites to rule the rest of the nation. Sales and any taxes are designed to keep YOU in check and dis allow YOU to live your life as YOU see fit by taking money out of YOUR pocket. In simpler terms: elected elites feel and continuously tell YOU they know how to live YOUR life better than YOU do!....I hope you stop and digest this.....Do you really know where all of the tax revenue goes? Do you really know how it is used? How many projects are you told you need because someone else wants it? or How someone else wants to take care of someone else who is down on their luck and can't feed themselves? Do you really think you should be funding a safety net for some one else? Especially a safety net created by an elite designed to take money from you that you earned for you? I call that theft....Additionally if your income tax bracket is 25%, you do understand that you 40 hour workweek means you work one day plus 2 hours before the money you earn can be called yours? Do you really like receiving a paycheck that says you worked forty hours but you only got paid for thirty?

Can't disagree with your reference to where tax money goes.....Waste, Fraud and Abuse rules in Congress and is rampant throughout the Federal and state governments, albeit state government by most state constitutions are required to have a balanced budget, not so the Federal, far easier to borrow & waste.

That's another misconception. The fact that you are in the 25% bracket means that "the last dollars earned" may be taxed 25%. But, using single as an example, the first $9325 is still taxed at 10%, from $9,326 to $37,950 is taxed at 15%, from $37,951 to $91,900 is taxed at 25%.

So, if you are in the 25% tax bracket only your earning above $37,950 are taxed at 25%. And those taxes are applied to your adjusted gross income, the amount that is reduced by exemptions and deductions. Take a look at your income tax return and figure what the real percentage was that you paid. It will be considerably less than 25%. Now start working a little harder during that last 10 hours of the week.
