At the end of the day, these "migrants" have a roof over their head, meals, hot and cold water, showers, access to medical professionals, etc. while they wait to find out if they can stay. Maybe you'd rather they stand in line on the other side of the border?

The kids may be away from their parents. Yeah, I get that. They are definitely away from any adult traffickers, adult abusers, etc. Historically, the kids get placed with relatives already living here (if they have some) and parents get deported (they broke the law).

Asylum seekers need to provide evidence that they are being persecuted and either their government is responsible or their government is unable to stop the persecution. There are several areas that qualify for asylum. Google it and you'll find exactly what they are. "Looking for a better life" does not qualify for asylum. Not here and not anywhere.
