I found the Panasonic FZ300 would fit the bill. With an F2.8 lens, everything should shoot fast and eliminate the "shakes" problems. I thought it looks good too, so I just ordered one from B&H. I'll give it a try and see if it fits the bill when I don't want to carry around my Nikon cameras.
I bought a FZ300 for my travel partner and she loves it (of course she's coming from a mobile phone, so...) It's not pocket size, but does fit in a small camera bag, e.g. Lowepro Apex140 AW, and definitely carryable ALL day while hiking mountains. Very nice zoom range.
