From a rank amateur's perspective, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Google Photos. Working well for me on my PC (Windows 10), iPhone and iPad.

I went Faststone. If I need more, I have LR Classic as been a LR user since LR3. Love what Faststone does for me. Pacasi is long gone.

I have been looking for a replacement for Picasa and haven't found one to my liking. Using MyFinePix Studio, Canon Zoom Browzer EX and ACDsee. ACDsee is way to deep for me and I don't want to learn it. The others are no bargain, but I can't straighten out a crooked picture. Picasa was the best for me and did everything I wanted to do and did it easily. The best thing in Picasa was the filing system, with Folders and Albums. The problem now, as you know, is that it is not supported and has become corrupted. Help please! bizzard1037@gmail.com Buzzard Bob

I use to use Picasa years ago and it worked fine. A Pro turned me on to FastStone and have never looked back. Does all the basic processing. I also have Photo Shop but rarely use it. To big of a learning curve

Hi, I also use Picasa, but as it is no loger being supported, as I am on widows 10l i use photos, which is in the menu and find it to not only easy to use, but very good, it is a junp up from Picasa, but you do not have to be a Boffin to understand. Also I have also downloaded Photoshop elements express, which is a free one, and use that, also easy to understand and use,
Try these as they wont cost you anything, and I think you will be very pleased with the results, I know I am...

I agree. MS Photos is a great little app. Very well designed, and could not be easier to use. I am constantly surprised at how many people are unaware it's there.

I use picasa for the catalogue. I have 150 albums some with over 2000 pictures. I can search for particular pictures easily. Is there anything out there that will do the same thing. Also would it import the catalogue. It would take me months to recatalogue everything

If you are using windows 10 and your photo software stops working you can just about be sure that windows 10 downloaded an update to the operating system and installed it in the background. This is getting to be a common problem. The first thing to try is re-install the photo program and it will probably work just fine until windows 10 mess's with it again on the next update.

I just installed Picassa 3 on my laptop within the last hour and it runs perfectly with no hiccups. I normally run Lightroom and Photoshop but wanted to make sure Picassa 3 would work under Windows 10 for a friend. It's good to go.

Which site is safe to download Picassa 3 from?

Its catalog and editing features still work. Can't email from it, but that is a very small issue.

I have downloaded Faststone and have been using it and have the following observations:

1. The work flow is very slow taking possibly 4 times longer to edit each picture,
2. The number of editing functions available are not as comprenhensive as Picasa 3,
3. The graphic user interface is not as intuitive as Picasa,
4. Moving pics from one file folder to another is slow and tedious. It was fast and simple in Picasa 3,
5. The learning curve is not a problem but simply takes a bunch of browsing until you know where things are,
6. The price is right but the functionality is less than what I'm used to with Picasa 3.

I have made one attempt to download another copy of Picasa # but no luck so far. I a bit concerned about getting a download that's infected with a virus and will do some more searching. I'll not keep Faststone if I can reload Picasa 3. My present copy comes up with an error message that will not allow opening the program. Hopefully I can get back to Picasa # with a fresh copy.

I can offer you a free/no malware, ... download of Picasa from my Dropbox.
You may check me out with others on UHH. I've provided it for others.
PM me with your email address.

I'm 81. There are easier ways to "export", email a photo. Do you have an email account? I'll be happy to assist. PM me.

I just use Windows Explorer to manage the actual files. Using any of these apps for actual photo file management can lead to problems. You can still use them to search and sort via EXIF data or other tags. Although, Explorer can do much of this too.
