Very nicely done! It evokes a feeling of quiet and peacefulness. I would certainly like to spend some time there.

Thank you Steve. Glad you enjoyed.

There is something very grounded about this shot. I feel like I am viewing the scene from a front row balcony seat. The pond has such a sense of place and contentment. My eye is compelled to travel around the pond and foreground. What seems unusual, is the easy choice between a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. All the while, the persisting allure of the hills is too strong to resist. Really really nice.

Thank you fergmark. The whole scene lends itself to a well-balanced composition. And following the line of sight out across the water to the conveniently-placed hills seems like the natural thing to do. A gift of a scene.

Would you have another shot of the scene which would show more of the right side of the landscape from the right edge of the building?

Thanks for commenting, SHG. My lens was already at its widest and the confines of the space that I was shooting in meant limited possibilities. I got the important stuff and any movement away from the spot shown here would have revealed more of the same.

This is one of my favourite shots from a recent trip. The open water that you can see leads on to a freshwater loch near the west coast of Scotland.

Everything seems to have come together in this photo. The greens of the mountains are perfect with the blue boat and the composition is lovely. I really like this a lot. If I were to nick pick, I would suggest cloning out the post at the beginning of the dock and the one sticking out of the water. Very minor detail, though.

Thanks for commenting, Erich. It was a lucky find. To my mind the posts are what I would expect to find in that sort of a setting so I don't have a problem with them. But you do have a point, though. If I was selling the image it would probably be a good idea to remove things like that because they wouldn't be to everybody's liking.

Excellent! I really enjoyed seeing this photo. Do you perchance have one with the entire building included? If so, I’d like to se it, too.

Thank you John. This is the only one I have, mainly because I was at the lens's widest setting and limited in where I could stand. But I managed to include all of the important stuff.

As a non-expert, the placement of the blue boat on the water in the lower third framed by the green setting makes the picture very appealing. This may be basic composition, but it is something I can identify as drawing me to the photo.

Thanks for commenting, Mike. The angle of the boat and jetty were amongst the few things that I had a lot of control over. If the boat is close to an intersection of thirds, it's as a result of me composing by eye. It certainly wasn't carefully calculated or planned.
