Optech looks good but I have issues with plastic quick release buttons. When I sling my Nikon D3s around my shoulder, Black Rapid is the best.

Rest assured that is not plastic used on the quick release for OpTech straps. That is composite material invented for the space age. I was a little concerned too until I found out it was the same material used on a sculpture bearing a load. It's been outside in the wind and elements for over 20 years. It looks the same as the day it was put in.

There was a discussion about this a few months ago, and the conclusion was that these clasps are very tough and are not any kind of "weak link." They are used world-wide for all sorts of critical connections. Companies that use them for important things - like cameras - use good quality. They might not look very impressive, but they are tough and durable.
