It took more than 7 months between when I ordered the ES-2 and when it arrived on Mother's Day weekend, but I am making beautiful, high MP files out of my old 35mm chromes. I see that Adorama lists it as "Back-ordered", so I presume they sold out of their first shipment. Just wondering if any other Hogs have bought one and how they are making out.

That's a long wait! Good it's working after all that waiting.

Did buy one from the dealer I use - took about 5 weeks from order to receive. Used it for 35mm slides. Had previously done the same slides using my Epson 3170P{hoto Scanner and noticed little, if any difference in results. The ES-e offered much greater convencience - can use it anywhere.

What cameras are you using with this, please? Thanks.

I am using a D850. Under "Q&A" on the Adorama site, someone asked if they could use a D800 and the answer said "NO". That is not correct, if you are working with 35mm slides. Any 800 series Nikon will work well, making high MP files, provided one uses the compatible Micro lens for FF.

Can you move the slide side to side and up or down, or are you stuck with having it centered only?

does move side to side; takes 2 slides or 4 film strip images

Actually, after a few "speed-bumps" getting started, I find I can move the slide quite a bit, side-2-side, up-&-down, tilt if need be. Whatever shows through the slide holder, the camera can see.

You can use any Nikon FX camera but the D850 has the built in software to convert a negative to positive.

Thank you and BboH. I like to have the ability to crop in-camera.

Curiously, in my text, Bebu, I stated "If you are working with 35mm slides...". I know about the conversion problem with negs if one is not using a D850, but that is not what I was talking about. For 35mm slides, my D800 works quite well and so would a D810 ... FOR SLIDES.

Slides are easy so you wouldn't need any software for that.
