Oh, JJ, I haven't even bought our flowers yet!
Some of these are tablet photos, but I took more photos yesterday with my real camera. Florida in Spanish means flowers, so I always have things blooming! But I love looking at everyone's flowers and plants that we cannot grow here. I hope I see someone's Peonys and sweet peas. Those are two of my favorites. (And bearded irises!) I'll be back later with yesterday's flowering plants.
Wisteria buds
Azaleas
Pear blossoms
Orchid
I have a favourite wildflower that I search for every spring. Luckily I know where to find them. I found beautiful Dog-toothed violets blossoms on May 9th. of this year. This wildflower is misnamed as it is not part of the Violet family. It goes by other names also, such as: Trout Lily or Fawn Lily because of its spotted leaves, or Adder's tongue because of its colourful stamens. It has been named Dog's tooth because of ithas a white canine shaped root. I checked out this root once and yes it is white and is shaped like a canine tooth.
This year's find!
Often called Adder's tongue!
Trout Lily or fawn Lily
A Klaidscoped version
Ehe spotted leaves of a Fawn Lily

What a pretty little wildflower! Thanks for the explanation. Various plants have all kind of common names, some of them very different from others in other parts of the world.

Time for a new challenge. I love to take pictures of flowers and since I know not all plants have flowers on them as of yet the idea came to me that if no flowers were you live as yet you can show plants that will flower. If they have buds on them better yet. I hope to get to some of me picture before the challenge is done with some plants that just have buds on them.
Those in front of the waterfall look like Oak Leaf Hydrangeas. Good topic for this time of year.
