I just returned from St. Augustine, Florida....my first time there. The following were taken with the budget friendly Sigma 150-600 C, on the Nikon D5500.

Great shots! We're there still alot of babies in the nests? I was there about 3 weeks ago, and was wanting to go back one more time before the nesting season is over. But wasn't sure if there would be alot of them left.
Thank you! I would think that it should still be good into the first 12 days of June, at least. I think they have a live cam on the web...and of course you can call them to ask about conditions.
Great pictures....really enjoyed looking at them

Beautifully sharp shots - I have to resist the temptation of a GAS attack!
Thank you, Sue! I talked to a lady photographer there. I asked her what kind of lens she was using. She replied, the same one as yours. She used to have a 600mm prime. She found it too heavy, and was just as happy with the Sigma Contemporary IQ, and preferred it’s lighter weight.
That being said, it is still a heavy lens...and the Tamron and Nikon varieties have their fans.

Thank you! I checked out the live feed, and it still sounds very busy at the bird rookery. Maybe I'll try to go back tomorrow., now that the wind and rains have died down.
A wonderful series, excellent shots. The one of the spoonbills really put a smile on my face!

Very nice work as all has said. Should be postcards. Would you share your settings with us?
