These photos were taken on SR 155 between Soap Lake and The Grand Coulee Dam. They are called the "Scablands" because, during the Ice Age 11000 years ago, a massive ice dam broke in Montana washing over this area leaving an unnatural landscape. It is one of my favorite places to go in Washington.
