If you registered your software with Adobe, you had to create an Adobe user ID. Log into your account and search for the purchased/registered software page. I remember you have to look for it, since it is buried in some menu or other. You should be able to redownload your CS6.

Thank you very much for taking your time to help me. I'll look for my registration.

Are Acronis and PC Mover backup programs? Have you used them? Do you know of their reliability?
Thank you for your response.

Acronis is a backup program, I use it. But it also has a clone function to transfer programs, apps and all to another hard drive.
PC Mover is a cloning program that moves things to a new computer and interfaces with the new components.

I have used Acronis for 10+ years. I've recovered full backups quite a few times and it is totally reliable.

Very good. When I bought Adobe products in the past, I always bought from their site because they would have a record of the sale. For some reason, though, my programs and numbers were split between two different parts of their web site - always a nuisance to find what I wanted.

Do a google search for CS6 and look for a link to Adobe. Adobe has most of their old programs available but they are not easy to find.

If they are doing a clone of the old computer's hard drive (something like Acronis or PC Mover) then all your programs should come along for the ride.

Not correct. Installing a program does much more than putting an .exe file on the hard drive. You cannot simply copy it. Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs) must be added or modified and registered as well, beyond simply doing a copy.

Not so sure you are correct. Perhaps it's semantics? I have used Acronis to backup my OS drive and have recovered it many times. All programs are preserved and functional.

On the same computer you can restore but not on a new one.

I did not say "copy", I said clone the drive to another new drive/computer. PC Mover does that and the top tier paid version of Acronis does it also. And yes, both say the resulting drive will be bootable.

Both Acronis and PCMover have features that transfer(clone) your whole hard drive/system to a new computer, and it is bootable. You may have to do some tweaks etc.
