Carla, I've never had as many blooms as this year so I'm thinking the late start had something to do with it.... but like you, today I noticed they were all gone.... so no more heavenly aroma.... I'm pruning down the bush now because most of the lilacs were up too high to enjoy and hope that next year they'll be more!

Corolyn.... the smell was intoxicating and like yours, they're all gone!! Hoping after I trim the bush down, I'll get even more next year and at least be eye level with them!!

Thank you, Sylvia, for your kind words... I'm wondering if that is the case, even my clematis has a ton of buds, more than ever... I hope they last longer than the lilacs which are all gone already.

The smell of lilac is one of the things I miss. I brake for lilacs! Nice.
