Breathtaking experience flying through the Grand Canyon by helicopter. We made one stop for a champaign toast otherwise all photos were from the air. I've seen many images of the canyon but photos will never do it justice. A magnificent National Park for sure and so glad I got to see it first hand. Nikon D750, 24-70 2.8.
Sounds like a great ride Rob.

Great, really beautiful pictures of the Canyon, glad you enjoyed it...I'd prefer a fixed wing but you apparently had a great time.
Nice ! - thanks for taking us there and sharing - and glad you survived ! 8-)

Wonderful !!! I couldn't agree more with you that pix are great but do not come close to the real. Shang
I agree about the beauty; however, unfortunately the constant loud noise of all those choppers echoing through the canyon can really damage the beauty of the experience for those on the ground--esp. inside the canyon. I know it's a complex issue.
Great shots!
We took one of these rides about 15 years ago out of Vegas. Was relatively cheap back then, around $300 a person, not sure what current prices were. The pilot was a young girl that was in her early 20's if that. She was an amazing pilot. Dropped into the canyon for the champagne brunch, had a few minutes to walk around. Saw a bunch of snakes.
You did well. I've ridden a helicopter over the Canyon, but it didn't actually go into it.

Beautiful pictures. I have seen both rims, but sadly only on the ground. Have had the flight on my bucket list for some time.
Info: Helicopter is a Eurocopter EC 130 T2, owned by Mustang Leasing LLC. (Courtesy FAA.gov)
Beautiful Rob, and what an experience that must have been!
Excellent shots. We are considering the Grand Canyon next year. Where did you get on the chopper, how long was the photo shoot and (if I might) how much did the operator charge?

So how much are these tours, and where did you take off/ purchase it from?
