I just went to Toronto's most respected photo equipment supplier to buy the BR-E1. Just to be on the safe side, I asked the sales person to test it on a 6D Mk II. It didn't work! We tried the RC-6 which did work so I bought that.

Sorry to hear the br e1 wouldnot work. You have to pair it in blue tooth then set shutter on 2 sec timer .
It fires straight away not after 2 seconds just for pairing reasons.
The guy at the camera shop must not know how to work it.
I use mine on my 6d mark 11 everyday.
