Lightroom will see images synced from any "Device" tied to your account. If you created a collection and synced it from Classic, you will see in CC and the Apps.

I had a problem where I had the App configured to sync new images too. I had downloaded some images to my phone which were in turn synced back as "new" images. Took me a while to determine the source of the duplicates. Your problem sounds different, but if you trace where images live and where they are synced, you should be able to figure it out.

I use Pro Show Gold to produce my shows with music too. It's very easy to use and provides a wide assortment of effects, transitions between photos and free music. You can also use your own music.

Are you asking how to remove the part I have circled when you are in the Slideshow module? I have some of them circled on the left of the "filmstrip". If you do want the filmstrip to not be in your view, simply click on the little triangle I have circled at the bottom center of that same example I put up for you to see. You will have to hit the download button to see it in my example. If this isn't what you are talking about, we need more clarification and perhaps proper terms for the problem.

I believe the OP is laboring under the illusion that he needs to remove the images in the filmstrip BEFORE he adds new images for another show. All he needs to do is select images or folder from lightroom library, go to slideshow, and the old ones are gone, new ones there ready for editing, selecting, etc.

I'm of the impression he's working with LR CC (the web version, not Classic) and I am not familiar with that interface as I have not installed it.

You could be right but if the OP doesn't come back and tell us, we'll never know.
