Had the opportunity to join my local Audubon group for a birding outing in Central Park. Wow! Can Chris Cooper lead a group! He listens as well as sees. Extraordinary! Anyway, I was trying to use my SX50 and caught a lot of leaves but it was still fun. Our group saw 15 different warblers! Still trying to figure out my gear. Glad I wasn't carrying the 18-400 all day. I would not have made it. I need my binocs on one side and my camera on the other. Enjoy! Comments, especially regarding composition, are very welcome.

Thanks for looking. What a fun day. This was a first for me. The park was packed with birders and everyone else. It was such a beautiful day.

They have this type of event every weekend from different group, yes, it was fun for me, but I missed it so much. I can still have it in CT with Connecticut Audubon Society, but not quite convenient like NY. NY is much cheaper to attend ($15? I remember), and riding the sub-way will get me there any time.

These are very nice images... i liked the 1st a lot. I would have cropped out the tree on the right side. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the info. Is there a link with the different groups? For me it's a 40 min. train ride plus a 20 min subway. Was still well worth it.

Good catch! I think I may left it to balance it, but after taking it off, I think I like it that way a little better. It doesn't distract. Thank you for your opinion, much appreciated. It's how I'll learn.

You may just get on-line to the site of NYC Audubon Society for all the events. I usually stay with one group every time. We would meet at the Turtle Pond Pier in the Park 10am for the 2 hours hunt! Good Luck & have fun!
