Enjoying my new Nikkor 200-500mm and Nikon D750. On 5/2 a pair of Indigo Buntings spent a long time posing in my Virginia backyard. I'm really loving the resolution I'm able to get with this lens.
Love them all but the last is my favorite.
Well done. I too enjoy this lens. vz

Very nice, well done. We get one or two visits during the better migrations (east coast Florida)....many family groups of Painted Buntings, but just a peek at the Indigo's.
Beautifully captured, such dynamic color! framed well in the azaleas and in the dogwood which enhance his color, I think.
Really well done jamacq. They are not the easiest birds to get sharp because of the lack of contrast. You did it very nicely!

Thanks. I'm really impressed with the D750 ability to focus. Just upgraded to this camera last Christmas.
It also helped that these birds chose to stick around in my backyard for at least 45 minutes only about 30 feet away from me jumping from tree to bush to pose. My wife and I had been saying recently it would be fun to see an Indigo which we have never seen locally and there they appear. Also very cordial of them to do so while the trees and bushes are flowering.
Got around 150 photos with >75% in perfect focus.

Excellent series. All are very nice.
What a magnificent color on this bird...just gorgeous.
Great shots of a beautiful bird.
Great shots Jeff. It was very nice of them to pose for you. I am jealous. I have only seen an Indigo once, and I didn't even have a camera at the ready.
Outstanding shots of a stunning bird!!
