I've used three Godox speed lights for a couple years. The wireless triggering is flawless. Wireless controls are easy enough. Not quite as powerful as my Nikon SB 910 but so much less expensive....... So much less expensive. The battery packs are superior to the Nikon AA battery powering scheme. The wireless function so far superior. Lacks the power of a SB-910 though. The ttl functioning of the SB-910 is incredible.

Can someone provide me with a reasonable costing speedlight for my Nikon D7500. Perhaps under $150

With $150, you can buy 2 Neewer flash + diffusers + a set of master-slave controls

A used Nikon SB-26 speedlight on ebay. $65 to $100 with shipping. Roughly the same features as the newer more expensive Nikons speedlights. A little less power, but many times the power of a built in flash. You can set the power level, sync it with your camera high speed sync, or use it as an optical slave (no wired connection) to another flash.

The Godox 850 at $139 has a GN of 190ft @ISO 100 ,
wheras the Nikon SB 910 has a GN of 160.8 at ISO 100
In addition the Godox has a Li ion battery. I read one review by a professional who rated the Godox above the Nikon equivalent. The wireless transmission was the main consideration for the higher rating.

I have a Nikon SB-800 I can send you for $150. I have two and a SB-700 I hardly use. The SB-800 is made in Japan and will last forever.

Godox is very good value.

At one time I ran a side business specializing in electronic flash repair, modification and custom studio builds. I still do a bit of work in that area and do the maintenance on all my flash equipment.

I have found that some of the aftermarket speedlights work, however, oftentimes the quality control is a bit erratic and there are some issues. Of all the off-brad imports , the Godox gear is very impressive. The construction and circuitry is well engineered and manufactured. They hold up well in professional l use, the light output is consistent and the trigger voltages are safe and compatible with all current digital cameras.

I have repaired two units that did not fail as a result of any defect- the were damaged by careless usage but were nonetheless repairable.

The models with the user-replaceable flash tubes and interchangeable reflectors are awesome. The compare well to the Quantum units that are far more costly.

Agree. You cannot go wrong with Godox/Flashpoint. I have a second on the way.... with the Li ion battery. Can’t beat the quality, the price, the performance.
