Depends on your requirements. But for that camera I suggest a 35MM DX lens by Nikon.

What focal length did you have in mind?

Just about any prime lens will be lighter than a zoom lens. As to which prime lens to suggest, that would depend on what you will want to use it for. On your D7100, a 35mm lens would give you an angle of view close to that of the human eye.

That depends on what you shoot most. A prime group that replaces all those lengths will need a pack mule to walk around with you.

In general a 35 or 50 would be lighter and faster, and foot power could make up some of the Xoom range ... but I’d keep what you have and just carry one of what you have depending on how much reach you need.

You need to check your lenses again.

Simply put, you should buy the 35mm DX.

Yep, I think I can. Try out the Nikon 40mm f/2.8 DX G AF-S. It is a prime, at-or-about the focal length of a FF "Normal/Standard" lens, and it is a true Micro Nikkor.

Check out DxOMark's data base on lenses. This is a great resource.

You could review your pics and see if there is a particular focal length area that you seem to frequently use and add a prime in that general area.

What do you like to shoot? No point in getting a really sharp 24mm prime if you like to shoot sports, birds, wildlife, etc.

Check your images to see what focal length you tend to use the most. Then buy a prime lens near that focal length. f/1.8 prime lenses are less expensive and lighter than f/1.4 lenses, and image quality usually not significantly different and sometimes better.

If I were to live with a single prime myself it would be a 300 f4, but that’s me ... it would weigh about as much as the 2 lenses you carry now.

My second choice would be a 180 2.8.

But, if weight is truly the issue I would pick your 18-200.

Yeah. When I read the question, I thought of the Nikkor 200 f/2.

The latest is hardly a “light weight”: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/734998-USA/Nikon_2188_AF_S_NIKKOR_200mm_f_2_0.html
