Yes, there are many uses for a ring light.

The Yashica dental eye has 100 f/4 macro with built in ring flash. So a 100 mm lens for FF and may be 50mm lens for APS-C.

A 100mm full frame would be a little over 60mm on an APS-C sensor. Crop factor is 1.5 for a Nikon or 1.6 for a Canon.

What’s a good lens length for oral (teeth) photos??? Wide? Macro?

Actually many of the camera manufacturer's sell specialty dental kits. A lot of them use between a 50mm and 100mm macro lens with a macro ring light.

It's a great lens for a full frame camera, or crop sensor if you're not shooting intraoral.
Made by Kiron, I believe it was also marketed as the Vivitar Series One.
Dine's exposure guide on the lens is really helpful.

Oh. Be careful if you look at pre-built dental kits. Sometimes they are priced for dentists. By that I mean the component parts may cost less than the kit price.

Macro. Nikon once made a Medical Nikkor just for that.

I have several Lester Dine 105mm lenses & ring lights. It's what I use for my macro shooting. Got my first one from my Father in Law (a retired Dentist). The attached image shows one camera with a Dine 105 and the ring light, the other with a Dine lens & a softbox mounted speedlight.
