If you like history or historic buildings, Prague is the city to go to.
The Old Town (Stare Mesto) or the Small Town (Mala Strana on the other side of the river Vltava), the Castle, King Charles the Fourth bridge, very scenic Baroque gardens, Vysehrad (High Castle), pavillion Belvedere, art nouveau, Jewish synagogues and Zizkov Memorial are the most admired locations - but sometimes crowded. There are the whole streets built in Middle Ages with churches and little chapels hidden inside the blocks - built in 12th or 13th Century. Also the already mentioned here, the villa Bertramka where Mozart stayed while visiting.
A wide angle lens is very useful.
Be careful about your camera and your credit cards, but not more than in the other places in Europe. I think Rick Steves is a little bit exaggerating.
Have a good trip and bring lots of valuable or spectacular images.
BTW maybe I will see you there soon? We should wear UHH hats when we travel?
Ceske Budehovice is a lovely town on the way to Ceske Krumlov. It's where the original, and far superior Budweiser originated and is still brewed there.

You could also order my book: "Daytrips Guide to Prague and the Czech Republic." It's available on Amazon.
No, it isn't. At least not on my PC.
That's odd. Thanks for letting me know. I'll check into that.
You can order it straight from Hastings House then.

www.DaytripsBooks.comSo, I'm 0-for-2. That link "Can't be reached" either. Prague IS still there, right?
Yeah, Prague's still there. Not sure about my publisher. That could be the reason my royalties have dropped off lately.

Oregonphotog. I enjoyed reading your question and all the answers. I too am planning a trip to Prague, but not till spring of 2019. Would love to read your comments and impressions and see some photos when you return. You can do that either on this forum or send a message directly to latsok. BTW. I'm spending a couple of weeks vacationing in Oregon this summer; in and near Sun River near Bend. Any suggestions?
