Sorry I missed this the first time around...
Certainly deserves more views than I see recorded...
Thanks
Hand held, when I was there it was hard to just stand because of the wind. Great job.

No wind that day. Thanks!

Took 11 shots, hand held, with a Sigma 150-600 at 150mm, using a D810 full frame camera. Heavy overcast light.
That's really a very impressive rendition, especially since your original images were hand-held.
It'shows that using a longer focal length reduces the amount of distortion from swinging the camera since it seems to cover a total wide angle equivalent to about 28-35 mm (just my SWAG).
What you posted is 8858x5663 pixels (about 50 MP).
1. Which stitching software did you use?
2. What was the aperture set to for the original images?
3. Did you reduce the size after or before stitching the merge?
4. How much memory do you have in your computer?

Thanks!
I used Lightroom to stitch.
Exposure settings were F8, 1/640, ISO 200, and the lens had it's stabilization turned on, raw capture.
Images were stitched straight out of the camera with only the lens profile applied, full size. The resulting image was 14763x9438 after stitching.
Computer is an Intel i7-2600K overclocked to 5 GHz, 32 gb ram, LR catalogs reside on a SATA SSD, Samsung 850 EVO. LR had no issues handing the large image, either during the merge or while processing in LR or PS.
