Does anyone know about this website?

A friend of mine sent a note saying he has had pictures for sale on this website for about a year.

http://artistwebsites.com/?affiliateid=A50734

The site has generated some income for him. I have looked at the price ($30.00 per year), and the company takes care of all the ordering, the artist simply sets his/her prices and gets paid for each item ordered. You also must set up your website, I'm sure using templates, etc. But, this sounds like a dream of a way to not have to deal with all the headaches of pay pal, credit cards, orders, printing, etc.

I'm just wondering if anyone here has had experience with this 'Artists Websites', powered by FineArtAmerica.com.

I just signed up for it last week. I am impressed with it so far. You will have to get paid from them through Pay Pal as they stopped paying with checks. Your payment from them is delayed for 30 day or more because they offer a 30 day money back pollicy and then pay on the 15th of the month after that. I was featured on there web page within 2 days of signing up. they have 116,000 members and it is growing very fast. The way I see it, You have to work very hard on your Key words that are atached to your images to get seen. The more key words you link to your photo's the better. They have millions of images to sort through to find yours so don't expect to much. If you join there blags and contest you will get more exposure. You still have to market your work but they help a little. Still the best images get the most attention. I still have alot of work uploading. You can see my work @ http://clicktimephotography.fineartamerica.com
When you get it up let me know and I will visit your site and you can see if the tracker is working. Here is a link for my other site with them. http://clicktimephotography.artistwebsites.com

Hello, I've been selling up there since last Sept. Great site, Great Artist.
Very poor customer services however.
Unlimited uploads for $30.00 so that part is very cool.

It has also given me my 1st chance to display my work on a international level since I started this shutter path in 77.
Tha site has also given me the chance to be humbled a few times by the amazing work created by some of it's artist members.

i went there this morning after reading this site and started my own site. This seems like a great place to try to sell some images. I like how it is so easy to get started.

It looks OK, a bit mudane but your friend has had some success with it. For that small amount of money you might give it a try. I personally have been with SmugMug for about 2 years, 5000PX about 6 months. I have had better luck with SmugMug. They offer better marketing, exposure than most.

Wanda, I was browzing this thread and your name suddenly clicked. I saw your award winning photos in the recent Camera Club Council of Tennessee contest. You do some pretty nice work and I was impressed. I am with the Nashville Photography Club and through their newsletter got to see your work. CONGRADULATIONS, on a job well done.
