Thanks for pointing out the continental drift factor. I was beginning to think that it was old age creeping UP to slow me Down.

As I get older I notice these things as well. Things are slippery than they used to be. And the ground is so much harder than it used to be - so be careful.

I have noticed that and for me thought it was an effect of getting older! Sad but probably true!

AS YOU GET older things have a tendency to change, at least perspective wise.
We like to garden but the problem is our soil is bad, I mean real bad. It is considered by some to be sterile and void of everything. So in disgust I said to my wife would you like to move to somewhere like Pennsylvania. She said, they you would have to put up with the snow. I guess we do not have it so bad after all.

Of course there is an alternative explanation.
As I gain weight (particularly over the winter) it generates a local gravitational field that I continually have to climb out of.

This winter has been cold; but not cold enough to put enough ice on the pond to safely skate. It snows but not enough to ski. It is snowing today again in Fort Wayne. and the Temp is 32 F. Biggest problem is that it has windy much of time since November thus lots of wind chill. I think the cloudy days do not help. If winter is "nice" we can ski or skate and stay warm through exercising.

It was so cold here this morning, when I put a kettle of boiling water outside it froze so fast the ice was still hot.

I was stationed in Nebraska for two years when I was in my early 20's and swore that I would never be that cold again. It seems, however, that the older I get, the colder I get!!

I definitely think a U.K. 32° F is colder than a U.S. 32° F. Might be because we refer to it as 0° C. Perhaps we'll all feel warmer if we call it 273K!

Hmmm Jerry, 79 degrees here in Clearwater FL, still seems like 79... but when we had those 45 degree days here, they really felt cold. I actually had to put on my old (from Pennsylvania) cold weather clothes. When we first moved down here and got a couple of 45 degree mornings, we laughed at everyone in they "heavy" clothes... Now, we're doing it too.
