for vacation photos I used wal greens or even wal mart, now I have an epson eco Tank so I print everything at home. I have used nations photo Labs when I need something enlarged, and for customers I had used Pro DPI.

Walmart does not do a bad job.
The last time that I had my LOCAL Walmart print photos for me I ended up printing them myself on my Walmart purchased all in one printer because of the banding in the prints. I had to do this because my local pro lab changed printer technicians and I didn't open the package until the night before the presentation. They were too dark and unpresentable. Yes, I had my monitor software calibrated to their output.
Long story short, I've ended up purchasing my own quality printer that leaves me in charge from start to finish. Yes, I know that there are others out there that state that the cost to have a pro lab print there photos is far less that that of printing at home. But for me, I enjoy the fact that any problem is mine; not that of the lab. Additionally, when I order replacement inks on special they are essentially free with the paper that I receive.
