Neat! Dinner looks GREAT!
Thanx Judy.
BTW I've been camping now for 65+ years. Star gazing, tents, skiffs, sailboats (The Sand Banks over at L.I.), cycletouring, small vans (Westfalias and The present Safaris) and it has been a ball!
We'd take the skiff up tothe Derby dam, and then drift down to just above the Merritt Pky Bridge and climb the hill and camp there as a kid with my dad and brother. We slept under the stars. Once about 2:00 AM the old Flat Wheel Express from Danbury to New Haven went by and my little brother loves trains and he went up next to the track to see it. Can you imagine the engineer seeing a 6 year old kid in the woods next to the track at 2:00 AM? He must've wiped his eyes a couple of times LOL

What great memories you have of joys not often found by kids of today. I'm so happy that our kids are following in our foot steps....taking the kids camping and enjoying each other!

Welcome to Day 197 :) You will be happy to know that I double checked the schedule LOL. Today is all about Camping. Great campsites... camping equipment.. anything to do with camping. Here are a few examples to get us started .. I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.
Great, I double checked your post along with the list this morning before I got the paper. My day is starting good. They match
We camped a lot growing up and then with our kids when they were young. We still try to take at least one leasure trip (as we call it) each year, but since the kids got to be as old as we were when we took them camping the requirements from my most significant other have become much higher than the basics.
AAA and Vacancy are high priority.
Cutesy cabin near Glacier NP is good.
Well heated spot in Teton NP was nice.
Catered dinner on Antelope Island was acceptable. You want steak or rainbow trout off that grill??
Got to roast some marshmellos and if we're real quiet that deer in the clearing just over the red hat might look up at us.
There she is!
This is what I got so far. Maybe more later. I can't believe people are tent camping when it is this hot.

Those are great. Sunrises and sunsets seem to be more majestic on those leisure get aways. As retired as we are every day's a vacation so we got to call these get aways something else.
It is invigorating to the soul to be out...
where the buffalo roam
and the deer,
and the antelope play
and the skies are not cloudy all day
Sunrise on the Tetons is Magical
here are the only ones I can find

Actually, taking my stepson to boy scout camp today. I'll post them later but for now, here's some from the archives. Though not truly camping, it was in the wilderness and roughing it..slightly.

Well, I can't say I've been camping for a long time, but I'm on vacation and that should be about the same. Here are a few pictures I got in the last few days of the great outdoors. I would to set up a tent in a few of these places, I just don't know how to move my apartment around that easily. LOL
An old Grist Mill I saw yesterday.
My Neice taking pictures with me.
The real way to go camping, native style.
It's all about family, My mother is enjoying herself here.
I would love to wake up to this view every morning, as long as it doesn't blow it's top again.
Beautiful Oregon.
