Excellent set of happy frogs David.

Hello Sylvia

The weather is being very cruel to our wildlife this year. I revisited this pond again yesterday in the snow and freezing temperatures that have gripped us again. No sign of the frogs and the top layers of the spawn were frosted. I am sure some of it will survive, nature has a way of coping. I am really pleased that you liked these. Thank you for looking and for commenting, and for the thumbup, always appreciated.

It certainly is David, the birds are so hungry topping up food three times a day! Our pond has frogs too, I think they might go further down in the water when the snow and frost is on the top.

Common Frogs (Rana temporaria) spawning. The weather here is stubbornly refusing to improve. Cold and windy with more snow coming. I went to check out a pond up in the hills above my house and despite the cold weather the frogs were getting on with spawning. A year to the day exactly since they spawned there last year. Nature is amazing.

i love frogs so i hopped to it to comment on your frog shots...beautiful shots and the froggies are so cute i thought i was going to croak!
i enjoyed your story, too, david, and i agree...nature is amazing.
