Just looking for an opinion. Ran into a deal on a camera and I found the ad a little misleading. Ad stated camera was low usage and was hardly used. When I inquired about how many shots were actually on the camera I was told the rating is 150,000 and the shutter count is 24%, which equates to 36,000 shots. Is this really considered low usage and hardly used? My thinking is low usage and hardly used would be no more than 5,000 shots. Maybe I am wrong ................

On the positive side the camera is in mint condition, as in not a mark on it, and looks new. It also appears to work correctly.

low usage depends on the age of the camera just like low mileage depends on the age to the car. A 2017 car with low mileage would be around 5000 miles. A 2008 car with 67,000 is also low mileage.

While I have and use newer bodies, I'm not parting with my D300. Great camera & that sounds like a super deal... Like others have said though, check it over real good.

I would say for a camera as old as that it would be low usage. I recently gave one away, but I hung on to and still use one. I don't know why, but there is something about that camera I really like. When you go to check it out, bring a lens in case they have none available.

And a card and ask ahead of time for the battery to be charged.
