PS, the Gammage looks like a toilet from the air. Check it out.

So where do you set the focus on these airborne bacon providers?

On the St Louis Style ribs of course

Jack, the old lenses will still work. It's just the new lenses will be optically "tuned" to optimize how they work with the new sensor. From what I read, the camera can detect the lens attached, as it does now, but "tune" the sensor's output to optimize the lens-sensor pairing. The new lenses will be more straight through passage of the data collected to the new inline image processor chip.

And don't forget the retuned flex capacitor

I've read articles that the D5s will come before the D6. Just as the D4 to D4s. Nikon has upcoming, the D850a. The D810a has been discontinued. Rumor has it that the Nikon D760 will have the same 36 megapixels sensor as the D810. And it will be minus an aa filter, unlike the D750. It will have 4K video. We will know later if these rumors are true about the D760.

You have all forgotten the self warming body for those cold days. Also Im sure I read somewhere for the novice that buys the D6 there will be a body vibrator option that self activates when something worthy of taking a photo comes into the view finder. Of course there will be a sub menu selection for gender bias for activating the vibrator action. Going to the beach with a D6 will be a whole new experience. The software is so advanced now the camera with a voice Nikki or Nik will be able to show real emotion and there will be frases like..'why are you making me take that boring photo again?' Be warned they will be taking control. Now will I go to Mars or buy a D6 because they will about the same price..tough choice!

Me thinks they were focused on 100 year anniversary line and lens offerings, whilst exploring the whole mirrorless gambit. Their core buyers are aging and they are going to have to lighten the camera and lenses to sell to that segment and attract millennial who are phone connected.

Now that’s funny! Thanks for the laugh and the memory jog.

Actually, there is a mixing board incorporated in the menus. The only complaint they've had with the prototype is that the back screen is a bit small and the adjustments are not as fine as the marketing dept. would like.

A couple of XLR mic inputs with Mackey preamps would really completetye package!

Good comments :-) :-)

A real feature I'd like on a D750 upgrade would be focus peaking.
I hope they don't increase the pixel count too much ( for the sake of my PC and collection of older lenses)

It is usually about 3-4 years between big releases of the pro-dslr's. Probably about another 2 years or so for a D6. Unless there is something super-fantastic like in the D850, I will be comfortable with my D5 for several years. However, you can wait forever since another new model will eventually come out.

I've been aware of that feature for years. Do you know why it looks like that?

Has anyone heard any rumors that Nikon may be releasing the next Pro DSLR Body?
I am about to purchase a D5 and I don't want to see a D6 on the market in 3 months.

It will come if you buy it or not, I just don't understand these kind of statements, if you like the D5, get the D5, because it is the camera you want, you cares what's on the market in a bit, especially you could care less, because you already have what you want!

Just like computers. A new one is coming. If that paralyzes you, you’ll never buy anything.

Thank goodness for all the new WB features. That is so important when shooting RAW. I plan on getting one and mating it to my new Gitzo motorized tripod. Then I can just ask Nikki to go out and take some photos.

Yes paralysis is the right word, to be precise its 'Nikon Paralysis' Look how long it took to get the D500 out and its getting worse. Nikon was averaging 6 new bodies per year and now down to 3. Read Thom Hogan probably has the best knowledge of Nikon behaviour and he is saying there is a lot of management discord within Nikon they dont have a clear path as to where they should be going with FX DX or Mirrorless. So there is unlikely to be any great surprises in the next 1-2 years. Worldwide sales of DSLR are down by 50 percent so both Nikon and Canon are trying to assess that situation and move forward. So as many have said above just do the best you can with what we have right now and it has never been better D5 D850 D500.
