I was hoping to expedite the learning curve--wanted to know if anyone has any experience/knowledge about David Peter's video on Learning Photoshop in 2 hours. I was curious if it was a good reference for some of the "lesser known" tools and capacities that Photoshop is capable of. It seemed like an inexpensive investment, however, I fear that "if it appears to be too good to be true, then it probably is!" Here is the link:
http://www.photoshoprevealed.com/learn-photoshop-now-video-5-1.htm Any and all feedback is appreciated. By the way, I learn something new every day at this forum--thanks. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience here second to none!
Thanks again.

If you can read "War and Peace" in two hours, this course still wouldn't make you comfortable with the program. I signed up for a 31-day video program for PS, and that left me wanting more.
If you want to learn more about PS, I'm sure this will offer things you don't know, but two hours is not very long.
There is a lot of free info on youtube, and Scott Kelby and lynda.com give you 30 days of access to their sites for $25. That's hard to beat.

I see he lists his course as costing $247, but is offering his 17 remaining copies for $7.00. If you want the $7 Upgraded version, it will ship "within 28 days." That all sounds strange.

Thanks. I can not access my internet server in two hours on some days. I am not looking for a miracle--just amazed at what can be done and what people tell me they do and wanted to educate myself to the possibilities. Often times I am too ignorant to know what it is that I don't know! I will check out your suggestions.

Good Morning, If it sounds to good to be true it usually is. There is no way to learn photoshop in 2 hours. you may pick up a couple of good ideas on how to do a few things but there is no way he can teach this to you in 2 hrs. I have been using photoshop now for little over two years, and i get all kinds of help for the Art Institute i learn something new everyday. the best thing to do is buy the program if you haven't already, and start using the hog to ask questions, watch videos on you tube or start using Scott Kelby training. I think for 25.00 a month through his website you will get more information than you will with this dvd. You can also try Lynda.com they are excellent as well with training you in all kinds of adobe software.

DW,
Check out Amazon.com. They have quite a few Photoshop supplements to straighten out the learning curve and the prices aren't too bad. I have purchased about a half dozen along with a Layers manual. I downloaded all of them for my Kindle Fire but they're also available as paperbacks.
PD
I watched Chris Orwig's videos in lynda.com - photoshop CS6 for photographers and I learned quite a bit. Highly recommended.

I'm half way through the lynda.com Photoshop Elements 10 course and strongly recommend it. I also have a video2brain course that I bought because I was going to travel where I didn't have an internet connection. It is also good. I discovered that lynda.com will sell you a DVD version of the course for about

New here, this is my first post.
I'm half way through the lynda.com Photoshop Elements 10 course and strongly recommend it. I also have a video2brain course on DVD from Amazon that I bought because I was going to travel where I didn't have an internet connection. It is also good. I discovered that lynda.com will sell you a DVD version of the course for about $50.
From what I can see, lynda.com and Adobe have close ties. CS6 is hardly out of the box and lynda.com has a complete training course.

NAPP National Association for Professional Photographers is an organization I have belonged to for about 10 years. It is $99.00 a year and they have some online tutorials I have found quite good. I think they have a 30 day free trial. You might look into this. They have seminars, they put on, around the county during the year. They are close associates of Adobe. Check it out......
Enjoy.....
I believe lynda .com is the best for your money. It has training on a lot of software besides Adobe with price plans that are flexible. It's addictive especialy the photography subjects like Ben Long.
I bought David Peter's a few years ago. There is better for the money. $7.00 would be okay, but . . .
Lynda.com is much better.
Go to 'help' in Photoshop. There is a wealth of stuff there.

This was the latest response to my question, so I will respond here but it is a global response to all who have and/or will contribute THANK YOU! I prefaced the question with the comment that there was a wealth of knowledge in this group--I probably understated the truth and am even more in awe of the diverse, yet abundance, knowledge and personal experience that is freely shared. Thanks again. I am already on some of these suggestions! Everyone have a wonderful day and I pray that everyone capture the picture of your desire--either with your camera or with your eyes!
please let us know what you end up choosing and why.
so we can learn from your research.
thanks
