If ice can have that effect on tree stumps in a couple of days it is not hard to figure out why Yosemite Valley looks the way it does. For me there is a weird 3D effect with some of those ice blocks on the main wall, they look as if they are stuck to a clear filter in front of the lens. There again it is probably just me. I like the points of interest in this simple winter scene.

Hi, Ronnie - welcome. Not really a contest - a challenge to shoot/post something to the topic. 2 topics/week with the idea of exploring different camera settings and shooting scenarios/subjects. To post: Reply>choose file (jpeg, other acceptable formats appear when you choose file, won't accept large sizes)>add attachment>add caption and update if you wish>SEND. Don't preview or you have to start all over. "SEND" appears in lower left under the reply box. Hope this helps

To attach a file or a picture, click "Browse" or "Select File" button, select the file from your computer, and click "Add Attachment". Enabling "store original" preserves the large version of your image for download.
(store original)Be sure to click send after above....Pat, probably explained better than I! But we will help, if you run into a stale mate...

I would have never guessed that. Anywho...thought this made a great winter shot and getting my dog to sit there and blend in was the real challenge.
