Up close, there are areas where rust has ate through some of the metal. There are some missing parts and a few hand made parts that are not original to the engine but added for looks. Probably deeded to the city along with the spur.
I had the pleasure of photographing the Texas when it was stripped in Spencer, NC. And made sure to get there to see it ready to go back to Atlanta. It was painted in its 1893 livery. It was great. A lot of videos on You Tube.
