Hi Folks, had a chance to photograph the train and depot in the little town of Lynnville (pop. 287) today. Had a break in the weather from all the rain, so it was nice to get out, if only for a little while. The depot is a replica of what the original looked like. And the train is a retired 1927 Baldwin 2-6-2 that once ran on the St. Louis-O'Fallen railway. These are in camera HDR's taken with the Sony RX10M3. Hope folks aren't getting mad with all my recent posting.

We lifelong train fans(aka "foamers") love any train photo...but the greatest rush you'll ever experience is chasing/pacing a full throttle steam locomotive with your camera against your face. Some have described it as "almost better than...(well you get the idea...I hope).

Query: Who owns these properties? The engine looks very pristine.

Great set.

Thank you all Kindly for the encouraging and nice comments. I'm not a big commenter myself, I'd rather just show off pictures and let them speak for themselves. So I apologize for not replying to each and every comment. I am going to answer to those who have asked questions or to someone who's comment I like to answer. Again, as they say in the south..."much obliged" for each and everyone of visited and left a comment. One thing I do, is read them all.

It's probably owned by the city of Lynnville or maybe the county is my best guess. The engine may look pristine, but that's because it has a good fresh coat of black paint. Up close, there are areas where rust has ate through some of the metal. There are some missing parts and a few hand made parts that are not original to the engine but added for looks. But she sure is perty to look at. Thanks for commenting and stopping by.
