As December came we wished and watched for our beautiful friend to return and then finally one day he finally appeared! Several times since his arrival we have not seen him for a few days, but this week I was able to take a few images, although at times I was clicking with a little drizzle coming down!
Corky, they are for sure a beautiful bird and your photos show them off.

Thank so much, wdross and have been hoping that would happen for the last several years that he has been visiting us, but so far he has almost broken our hearts and left in about April, and do we ever miss him, and will watch for many days hoping that he will return! I keep oranges out for mine and they stay the summer. They also like sugar water. Great shots

Many thanks for the kind words, Phil and always great to hear from you, and we really do enjoy watching him! The only problem is we like to take a short trip to Florida in late February-early March but really don't want to leave our beautiful visitor, knowing he will leave without his daily meals that we provide! He will usually stay until mid-April or even early May, as long as we feed him, and have been hoping that he would spend the summer with us and bring some young ones to the feeder! I say he, but know there have been more than one because year before last a molting young one was also visiting and then last year we saw two males together at the feeder several times We didn't make the trip last year as we were not feeling very well but must admit that watching him took away much of the disappointment, so guess we have a big decision coming up!
