Very nice, the straw coloured foreground matches the low light on the building a treat.

Thank you John. It was nice to have that late afternoon sun sneak through those clouds!

Gorgeous light, Linda - the best photo op I've ever noticed of this barn, and you took full advantage with your composition.

A tiny improvement to consider: darkening and/or slightly covering with a few more branches the bright white spot on left.

Check your camera clock. It's wrong, though maybe just showing a.m. instead of p.m. - if there is daylight at 5:30 pm now; I tend to pay more attention to sunrise than sunset - ha.

Or maybe the time I see in exif is when you edited? Also, a crazy result from my Chrome browser reader, or again your editor: the focal length of the lens is shown with about seventeen digits to the right of the decimal point - now that is precise

Thank you Linda. I go by that barn many times but this time I had to turn around, find a place to pull off, and hope I didn't lose the setting sun.
I agree about the white building. I have not played with this shot yet other than to hit the enhance button. I would really like to get into more pp. I just want to learn it all in 15 minutes!
I will check the camera settings-might be daylight time or something. Just something I never think about.
Thanks again!

Depends what you’re into Linda2, but I would darken the left hand building as Linda(1?) suggests, clone out the right hand building and the cable above it, enhance the snow-covered mountain a tad, straighten the white frame doorway (even if the whole thing is leaning), tone down the orange just a tad, try to recover a bit of blown sky detail if possible, try just a touch of clarity to bring out the textures and sharpen to taste. Then print and hang it.
Otherwise, you could just leave it as it is - it’s a lovely shot.

I do appreciate all those suggestions-I will make a note and play on our next rainy day! Thank you.

Nice shot. I wouldn't crop or do anything more to it except cloning out the cable that goes to the barn from the right side of the image. Its distracting.

Thank you for commenting-I agree with that thought too, and I know that is one I can handle.

Linda A barn most lovely, here are some possible thoughts. Thanks RBorud

Wow! Now that is awesome! Thank you so much. I liked my shot but now I love what you did and that is inspiration for me to get busy with more pp work.
I do appreciate your time!

Now that is nicely done! The only addition I’d make would be to tone-down the white doorframe so it it doesn’t draw the eye so much. Be interesting to hear L2’s view on this edit.

Love it and now I kind of like the little light in the right hand window. It isn't as bright and just adds a bit of intrigue to me.

Thank you!

It has a nice feel. I think that is the biggest appeal here. You shot at the best time of day for this time of shot. I like the details in the foreground. Obviously you took care about the composition and I think the results reflect that. I really like the photo.

Thank you Erich. I just happened to be driving by at the right time, managed to turn around, jump out of the car and get the shot before the sun disappeared!

Yet another good argument for always having a camera handy.
