Lucian, Yes I said I understood WB etc...I never said I used it properly. Also I tried your $40 fixes and they were not close to working.

However I will give anything a try. My flash was working in that pic..I had it on 0 ev I upped it to 1.3-1.7 ev as you suggested and it worked like a charm...pics are much better.

I can tell you have never taken pics of dogs however. What you are dealing with in that arena is a healthy animal who may have not been out of his cage for 2-3 days or more. Even tied to the wall, they are in 4 different places at once..so to focus closer is going to result in a lot of cut off ears, tails etc, not to mention 3 time the pics and 3 times the amount of time needed

I have some portraits and some full body shots of different dogs displayed on the web site. I want to make them look like (and they are) dogs who are cared for and would make good family members. The idea is to get the people to come and take a look at our dogs. They hardly ever walk out with the dog they came to see but a lot of the time they walk out with another dog they fell in love with as they walked along the cages..we have approx 150 dogs with a phenomenal successful adoption rate of 85%. We get 30-40 dogs per week who need 2-3 pics each on the web site. I take 15-20 pics of each dog and pick out the best to edit. Anyway thanks again for the ideas.

John

f2.8 1/60 iso 160 under florescent lights, window approx 15 feet to my left and flash on...how can I get the yellow hue out BEFORE the processing.

White balance, as has been pointed out already.

This was done in about two seconds. Apply a Curves adjustment, click on the white point eyedropper, and click it on the foreground. Poof! Instant color correction. Not perfect, but I think it's a vast improvement, and about as easy a post-processing fix as you're going to get. I think you said you were ordering Photoshop Elements. I'm pretty sure the same ability is there.
