Hi - I'm Kat. I'm new to photography but have taken some lessons over the past few months. I'm posting this pic because I took it from inside - through the window because it was too cold to go outside (I live in Atlanta and it was below 30 degrees). I'm surprised at the amount of detail that came through my not too clean window!
Welcome to UHH Kat. You are off to a great start.

Welcome, nice shot and color. I shoot through my snow streaked and dirty windows all the time. It was recently in the -30s here and I was not going to go outside for instant fog and freeze up. You did good. Top, when posting if you want people to see the great detail you have captured when you select the photo click the "store original" check box. That will give your photo the download option for a larger view
Welcome to UHH Kat, glad you joined us. Good first post, keep them coming.

In another section there was a question with answers about what is the difference between a snapshot and a photograph. One common answer is that a photograph has to be designed with angles, lighting and etc.
Here, we have a very beautiful picture taken through a (not very clean) window. Surely a snapshot?
I wish I had taken it.

Welcome Kat. If you are into birds check out the BIF section.
Welcome to UHH Kat. Nice shot taken from inside. If it was 30ish here in NY the last few weeks I would think we were in a heat wave, LOL. Real temps have been zero or below with wind chill -24 at night, but has warmed up a bit since.
Welcome! Looking forward to your posts and pictures. Happy shooting!
