I would go along with the post to which this response was submitted. Rong.... tends to ask questions or make statements that are thought-provoking, for those who wish to think. As with anyone, sometimes the comments may not "hit home runs". So be it.

You, on the other hand, seem to have a propensity for insults. The panorama group isn't nearly dead. One should realize that panoramic photography requires some skills that a good many would just as soon not wish to develop. It also is aided by the use of additional equipment in which some may not want to invest. It is, therefore, a niche' technique that a few enjoy the challenges it presents and enthusiastically share the results they achieve.

It would be surprisingly nice if you actually contributed something useful or informative during your posting escapades.

Well good for you, you are one of the few. Ever wonder why his panorama section is nearly dead? He ran other forums too but only ran it out of business.

I looked at his website when we first crossed paths, (terrible snapshots, blown highlights in most shots) noticed that most of his replies were mean and demeaning. That is all I needed to know about him. He would be the last person I would ever take advice from. Anyone who can’t level his snapshots after 4 or so decades of pressing the shutter, has no business giving out advice.

Happy 2018 to you.

I do, you just don’t read those. Isn’t that interesting?

How many times do you need me to tell you, that those who are bullies, I have no empathy for.

Which brings me to point out to you, that you don’t seem to have any issues with your buddy insulting so many people. I know you have more time on your hand than you’d know what to do with, so why don’t you go through his posts and see how many people he has insulted. People who did nothing to him, except they asked a question that he thought should be posted elsewhere. I remember several who left because of him. What a great guy isn’t he?

Hey, maybe he will listen to you. Teach him about proper exposer will you? His highlights are always blown. And also, explain to him about his camera’s level gauge?

If the panorama forum was doing well, he wouldn’t be soliciting in the main forum for more traffic.
Your buddy wouldn’t last 24 hours on any other photo forum. Guaranteed.

Then why reply? Look at the list of people who are on his ignore list.

That should tell you all about his character.

Thanks for the laugh.

I think starting off the new year with a clean slate and thinking how you can overlook presentation and focus on intent is probably better than ragging on RGG. He and I have had some considerable and loud differences of opinion in the past. I will not let that get in the way of what could be a very nice forum where information, instead of insult and condescension is exchanged.

He invited me to share in the admin duties and I wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity.

I am back from holiday and quite frankly was surprised by your negativity. Perhaps a different approach on your part may help make it a good place to exchange ideas and techniques.

So whaddya say? Are you in? It's worth a try, and I can assure you that you will see a different side of RGG. I have and I can certainly work with that.

There is nothing wrong with drumming up some interest in the Pano forum. Its only been up a month. Most people don't ever go beyond General Photo and don't even know it exists.

But not by his replies? You may want to have a talk with him. Last I looked, he is going after everyone in this forum who in his mind, breaking the rules. Keep him on a leash, make sure he is respectful towards other people (I don’t mean me) and you wouldn’t see me going after him. Deal?

I believe you're right, I have that on a DVD somewhere.
