I did see it, which led to my question. While it wasn't necessarily MY thing, I haven't seen anything about exactly what IS or IS NOT appropriate for this forum. There were no exposed genitalia, obviously there was a suggestion of penetration but it was implied, not visible.
Since I didn't have anything constructive to say, I chose to just move along without commenting, unlike several others. I've seen far more explicit pictures in my short time on this forum, so I was just trying to clarify the rules, since there doesn't seem to be any discussion or explanation for the thread's removal.

Obviously I'm in the minority on this site, and I'm glad to have the discussion with all of you, but I DO think the rules should be clearly stated for those who choose to post images.

Happy New Year!!

The notion that some members seem to be the sole arbiters of whether a photo is "porn" or not also bothers me, similar to the famous "I know it when I see it" statement by a Supreme Court Justice. I don't have a real opinion on whether or not that photo was appropriate for this forum (especially since it seems to be "unstated"), or whether or not it was pornographic, but even if I did, I'd just hit the back arrow on my browser and move along to another thread if I didn't care for it.
I did see it, which led to my question. While it ... (show quote)

I don't claim to be the porn police and I am by no means a prude, but I do have "flexible standards" as to what I consider worthy of sharing on a photography website. I think members of this forum need to create a sense of what is "appropriate" (read acceptable, desired, worthy of display) by expressing their thoughts on content (aside from photo critique). I have often expressed my like or dislike of an image, even suggesting that some images may be more appreciated on other websites, but I have never complained to admin or requested that a thread be removed. It really is up to the members to set the standards by constantly adjusting the barrier based on the specific content of a post. I expect that posters will take that feedback as it is intended and will think about what they post in the future.

If pressed for what my criteria might be I would say uninteresting backgrounds/settings, thoughtless poses and blah lighting in an image might deserve comment, but when the main point of the image is to degrade women then I am not interested. Even if all the foregoing criteria are met well I would hope the image would accentuate the beauty of the female form and not its weaknesses or faults. The ultimate point of a photography forum is to share skills and knowledge to improve one's photography, but sadly some images that have been posted here do none of that. Porn and voyeurism have plenty of other venues.

I can’t define porn but I can certainly define the degradation of a woman. This was not his first prurient photograph. His lack of artistic merit and tacky photographs were soundly criticized then and several people said his work was disgusting.

That he came back with another pathetically poor choice of rotten composition with a woman’s vagina and anus stuffed with carrots means he is either just arrogant or that he is just plain stupid, just like his pictures.

I’m no prude but I find his work demeaning of women.

Given that feedback would you post such trash like that again? If so, why?

It wasn't to my taste (which you probably know if you've looked at my photos I've posted), but I don't presume to know that it "demeaned women". The model may very well have thought it was funny, and was almost certainly a willing participant...it's not like it was taken through the window blinds without her knowing. YOU presume the carrots were inserted into the anus and vagina, but you don't really even know that, I could easily cut carrots and place them for a brief period just to trigger the shutter, and you wouldn't know that, would you? Would THAT make it pornographic, or just if they were actually inserted?
I've seen several other's pics on this forum I'd say were just as likely to be "porn" but they weren't removed. My original post was simply asking where the rules are located, and I still haven't gotten an answer.

One should think what others may think, regardless of the participants feel. if it is to be displayed for public display.

Haven't seen anymore of prego posts

Pasted or inserted is irrelevant; it’s the idea that was bad. I agree that there was no hint of coercion and that the model was willing; it may even have been her idea. If the latter it simply proves that even women can degrade femininity.

I am not bothered that it was removed, and I wouldn’t have been bothered if it had remained as an example — along with a slew of negative criticism — of what members find to have crossed a line of acceptability. I don’t care that people do this stuff, but I don’t need it shoved into my face. If I want that sort of stuff I can find it elsewhere. It remains my opinion that this forum should remain several cuts above that class of exhibitionism. And I believe there are others who feel the same way.

She isn’t the only woman in the world.

Posing like that to men who find it pleasurable empowers them to feel justified in acting the same way. Simply put, it encourages behavior and opinions that are more appropriate to a Neanderthal.

Perspective was pretty clear to me; the carrots weren’t taped.

You avoided the key question, why bother posting an even more prurient photo after having received near total condemnation after the first two? It wasn’t art, it was gross self-indulgence. He has his right to free speech; so do I.

I'd guess he posted it to demonstrate that it was a perfectly acceptable image for this forum (in his opinion, which should count just as much as yours, unless there are clearly defined rules about acceptable content). We are going to have to agree to disagree, I've gone back to posting my own (possibly pornographic) images. :)

I agree to disagree and accept your willingness to totally avoid the key question you were asked TWICE in return.

I’ll look at your photos and if their similarly stupid, I’ll say so. If they are, then perhaprs will also be removed by the admin.

Just curious, do you often ask a question of others who provide a detailed answer and then ignore a question they ask of you in return? What would you think of such a person?

Let’s see what you got. If there is an artistic merit, I will gladly say so. If the isn’t then I will gladly say so.

Happy New Year

You did, my error and my apologies. I’m not sure how I could possibly have missed that but it certainly seems I did.

It takes a very odd personality to continue to push himself on others when knows how objectionable they find his photos. As I said he has the right to post just as we have the right to object... and the administrator of the board has the given right to censor its contents.

I have no problem with that, I just think we should all know the rules.

I think it would be difficult to lay down exact rules for the forum regarding image content as it would really be up to interpretation. I think members can express themselves if they feel something is in poor taste (like carrots up the... ) and hopefully those who have material to post will make a considered and thoughtful choice.

I look forward to pleasurable viewing in 2018 and wish you and others all the best.

I saw it soon after it was posted. It was degrading to the model and totally devoid of artistic merit. I am certain the two carrots were not taped. Prior contributions by this UHH member we’re very controversial. I didn’t drop a dime on “Pego” but I decided I’ll not open any of his future posts.
