I'm leave in Minnesota, be honest I'm addicted to photography, I'm retired I have all day long to continue my passion, I love Outdoor but the colors is gone, everything is grey ☺ no snow !
I'm sure I'm not the only one who asked himself what I going to do today or tomorrow ?
Any idea what type environment still be interesting for photography ?
Please send me some ideas😐
Start thinking B&W, winters are full of shadows and contrast (when it snows) start there and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

If you do not want to venture outdoors, maybe a good time to hone your skills indoors with faster lenses and lighting.

Holiday shopping malls. Humans can be just as interesting as trees.
Excellent time to play with some black and white.

Research some “how tos”. Get access to a macro lens and photograph snowflakes. I’ve heard that no two are alike—so each one should be a new adventure with a unique design. A “Macro Studio” can fit on a desktop or table. Work lights can be used— or flash. If you haven’t tried focus stacking— that can be fun.
Subjects can be collected items from a walk, hobby stuff (coins, seas shells....). Your imagination is the limit. You’ll be surprised at what you can find around the house or garage.
If I put away my camera when it rained (our rain is your snow!), then it would grow old alone....
Go for it.

Think about a way you can capture "cold" not trying to be funny, but rather hopefully trying to suggest some out of the box thinking. Think about how you do that.
something what I have to share with you ,
I catch myself before I'm go for photo session , only what I seen is how much I can make on it or how I can impress my friends, my girlfriend Etc it's typical thinking in the Box, and this is really wrong, then I figure out the best idea keep your camera with you all the time if it is possible, sometimes I'm travel like 200 300 600 miles I'm bringing to home only maybe 6 good photos 😂
But the satisfaction it's unbelievable, most this photos is made accidentally , with a good place and good time 😎

So, tell me how you like your ART lens. I recently bought the 50mm, with a 24 and 85 in my future.
You could always shoot some flowers or plants with or without a flash and learn how to use light. This was shot with natural light indoors.
Think smaller and use s macro lens. Flowers drying up, snow on tiny objects, ice patterns. There is lots to photograph if you look for it.
