They'll find some twisted logic to move 'bama back into the top 4

Georgia will beat Auburn in the SEC championship game giving Auburn two conference loses and three loses overall. Bama has one loss and will be in the top four. There's no twisted logic about it. Bama was not prepared for Auburn. Very unusual for a Nick Saban team. Bama was out coached and out played. A national championship is still possible. If Auburn beats Georgia the same scenario can play out. Bama in the top four.

I agree…Bama just didn't show up to play the game and Auburn did. I've been a Bama fan for 50+ years and have seen a lot of Iron Bowls. Records and rankings don't matter in that game…I've seen blowouts when both were highly ranked and nail biters when the respective records were 11-0 and 4-7…it's a grudge match and you can toss everything else out the window.

Auburn deserved to win the game…and a lot of what they did had something to do with Bama's lack of performance…but they looked like they were just going through the motions to me. They've had a lot of injuries at LB and on the D-line this year and the lack of experience along with not being ready to play did them in. Sure…the 2nd stringers are 4 and 5 star players…but there's a reason they're 2nd stringers and not starters.

I don't expect Auburn to beat Georgia again…they played well last time…took advantage of some GA miscues…and the game got out of hand. It's awful hard to beat a team twice in a year…and I expect that GA will correct the miscues next time…not to mention the Auburn coach's quote about beating the Dog S**t out of them…that's definitely going to be bulletin board material this week.

If Auburn does win…or even if they don't…they beat 2 #1 teams in 3 weeks…they would be in my top 4 or close to it. The NCAA really needs to go to an 8 team playoff…that way you're pretty sure you've got the best team included. First game on campus at the higher seeded team the week after the conference championships and then the semi's and final as currently scheduled.

I certainly beg to differ that Alabama and Saban are the most popular Team and Coach in America. I personally can't stand either one. But, don't fret. After all Alabama won it's championship game against mighty Mercer the week before Auburn.

Maybe that Mercer game was too easy for Alabama. And they thought they were playing Mercer, when they went up against Auburn?

It serves Alabama right for having a cupcake like Mercer on its schedule. I realize that it is a big payday for Mercer, but it should not enhance Alabama's ranking.

BOOMER SOONER!!!

Every team has a "cupcake" each year. Auburn also played Mercer for homecoming. Did you somehow miss that?

The University of Hawaii has to pay non conference teams a mighty sum of money to play in Hawaii. And they are not a good football team either.

What's your point? Teams like Mercer love to play the big boy teams. It's for the money. They know they have no chance of winning but they make tons of money and get national exposure. Many more powerful teams now started that way. Troy University and Central Florida are two examples. If anybody wanted to take the time to study it they'll find all conferences do the same.

The point is Hawaii has to entice teams to travel across an ocean to play there. And Hawaii pays a lot of money for that to happen.

It's all about business. Of course it costs money to take an entire team from the mainland to Hawaii instead of down the interstate to play. The alternative would be for Hawaii to play everyone away. That's hardly fair. I seriously doubt that any team that plays in Hawaii loses money. Conferences pool money and divide it among the teams in that conference. Hawaii is in the Mountain West Conference and will get a share of revenue from whatever team makes more money with television appearances.

Miami was in the drivers seat until they lost to unranked Pittsburgh. I watched that game in disbelief.
I also watched that game in disbelief, Miami lost against a true freshman Quarterback. What surprised me is it wasn't a lucky win, Pitt went out and actually manhandled Miami.

Investing article. Cash strapped colleges take advantage of these offers. Western Kentucky earned over a million dollars to play Alabama. Obviously, Alabama is not cash strapped. Nick Saban is rumored to be the highest paid college coach.

I believe Saban is. He's definitely in the top five. The University of Alabama also rakes in the highest income from athletics of most top ranked colleges. As I've said before it's a business. Most of the money comes from television of the football time but that money is divided between all sports. Believe it or not Bama has an ice hockey team. How crazy is that? They share in the proceeds. As well as gymnastics, volleyball, etc. As far as this weekends games I predict Wisconsin to loose. Georgia and Auburn doesn't matter to me. One team will be in the top four. Most of the country doesn't want to see two SEC teams playing in the top four. So they don't want Bama/Auburn or Bama/Georgia in it. If you want the best teams there should be no prejudice. I'm a Bama fan first and an SEC fan second so I'll admit I'm biased. It is what it is. The SEC is without a doubt currently the toughest in the nation. The teams beat up on each other week after week. To beat up on each other and still have three teams in the top five in the nation says a lot.
