Shot of an old farm house den with my Nikon D850 and Nikon 24-70mm f2.8.
I am totally impressed. Love how the details just seem to pop out. Great photo.
Thank you everyone for your comments.

This camera really has a high dynamic range and pulls in detail real well. If you look close in the mirror that is me taking the photo, also note the color cast from the curtain on the fireplace stone from the window.
Not bad. Personally I would have raised the shadows a bit. But excellent detail nonetheless.
Agree, but I like the mysterious look of a dark photo.

I'm impressed! The photo looks better than my eyes would have seen it, kinda like supervision. Looks like Nikon knocked it out of the park with the D850, of course I think you should get credit for making it come out this good also.
I would love to take all the credit, however the dynamic range in this camera is unbelievable, basically all I did in post processing was crop and perspective warp (as I did not stand in the center of the room).

I have learned that good gear does help as long as you know how to take advantage of it. Many here don't agree that better gear makes a difference but I for one believe it does as long as you know how to use it as your photo shows both you and the gear does indeed make a difference. I have been a Canon user for some time now and hope they catch up with Nikons image quality soon, not that it's bad, I still love my 5D Mk IV but I think Nikon has jumped ahead with this new camera.
Very interesting shots, Bruce!

Looks like you nailed the exposure Bruce, I think you have a winner with that combo, the resolution and sharpness are quite good1
By the way, the subject matter is very good except for the weird little guy in the corner of the mirror, sorry, I just couldn't pass that one up!

They usually do leap frog with each other and now that Sony is in the race it will be a three way leap frog.

When I took the shot I didn't realize that my reflection was in the mirror. I posted the photo on another site and some photographer was trying to convince me to edit the reflection out, but I kind of like it in there it is almost like a signature.

I know exactly what you mean. How long were you on a waiting list before you received your camera?
I ordered it on 8/24/2017 at 7:59AM and received it on 10/24/2017 by UPS from B&H.

I just got my D850 today. What a camera! I noticed while flipping through the menu that the HDR function only works in JPEG, not in RAW. I guess that's because the two images have to be processed in the camera. But it's nice to know it has such a great dynamic range without that function. It came early this evening and it's raining out, so I've just been fooling around indoors. So far, I'm amazed, but I must admit, a little overwhelmed as well.
