FYI.... This past wednesday I received my (almost) one year old D500 back from Nikon service in NY. I sent it in because it was flashing Err and locking up (refusing to fire, etc.). There was an issue with the battery contacts in the grip, which I had also sent in, which was repaired. The camera and sensor were cleaned and returned exactly 8 days after I gave it to UPS. Absolutely no issues getting this done and a prompt job at that. I did get a bit of a rush being an NPS member, but I have never had any issues with Nikon's Service Department. The repair information on their website does usually run a day behind, but I'd prefer speed of repair to speed of paperwork. They will be getting my D5 around year end for a general cleaning and check as well as two lenses, one for firmware upgrade and my trusty, and old, 35/F2 for the usual, sticky aperture blades. I have no complaints. Best of luck.

Shipping camera and lens to them in the morning. I’m sure they will do a good job.

Well I finally have some good news for a change. I sent my Nikon D500 and the 200-500 lens to a man named Rick in Colorado Springs that I heard about on The Ugly Hedge Hog forum that repairs cameras and lenses Long story short the lens was fine and then he told me there might be an issue with the sensor on the motherboard so the D500 would have to go back to Nikon. But then he decided to take a second look at it and he made sure everything was connected right. Now thinks one of the connectors just wasn’t right. Rick replaced the lens mount. The D500 is working perfectly and the lens is working perfect Its only costing me $150. Plus Shipping.

Got the camera and lens back. D500 works great as it should. Nice fast AF images. 200-500 was fine and was not damaged when it fell. Rick (Riggins on UHH) did a great job and as I said saved me money. He replaced the mount, made sure all was plugged in regarding the boards and cables and did something to the mirror box. I'm glade I heard about him on this thread. Thats to all for recommendations and hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
