FYI.... This past wednesday I received my (almost) one year old D500 back from Nikon service in NY. I sent it in because it was flashing Err and locking up (refusing to fire, etc.). There was an issue with the battery contacts in the grip, which I had also sent in, which was repaired. The camera and sensor were cleaned and returned exactly 8 days after I gave it to UPS. They will be getting my D5 around year end for a general cleaning and check as well as two lenses, one for firmware upgrade and my trusty, and old, 35/F2 for the usual, sticky aperture blades. I have no complaints. Best of luck.
