Great shots, Hal. I see it all over Bucks, when I am up that way.

Your pictures captured the sadness of seeing a once-proud building giving way to neglect--maybe unintentional because of lack of funds, etc. This was a tall "stone-ender", and when you think of the hard work putting each stone in place by hand, and of the happiness involved in the large under-taking, you wonder about its history. If any pictures exist of the people who built this grand barn, it would be a good subject to try some double-imaging--the barn and the faces from the past. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi

That is a great shame and loss to the communities.
You have recorded their demise well with your photographs.
Well taken.

While they all make me a bit sad, the one with the flag is especially moving. I can't help but be drawn to the shiny white tower in the background. No flag there.

The juxtaposition, intended or otherwise, makes for a very powerful image, one that makes me wonder where our country is heading.

Thoughts from "an old man in a dry month," perhaps.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice shots but I couldn't help but thinking some should be torn down. Great for photographers but think about some kids thinking this would be a good place to play. One of those bldgs. could collapse and kill somebody if inside and kid's would never think of that. As a kid my buddies and I would sneak off and play and build forts in an old hay barn full of bailed hay. We never considered that those tunnels we built could collapse. When my folks found out about it I couldn't understand their not wanting us to play there as it still seemed OK to us and a lot of fun. .
