Bald Cypress and Dawn Redwood are two other deciduous conifers. There are many varieties of both. I grow both, as well as several varieties of Larch.

Very nice shot CathyAnn. We have a few Tamaracks in the area. Not a common tree here in PA but quite beautiful this time of year. Looks like a beautiful area.

Well done and informative too!

Thank you, Snap, for the great comment! I had to do an oval crop in order to avoid a street light and a roof, the first time I've ever done that. Normally, I would have done some cloning and spot healing, but these were too big.

I used an oval crop because there was a street light in one corner, and a roof in the other. In order to get the composition I wanted, I couldn't avoid them. So used this crop for the first time.

When I first moved to Missoula, Angela, I noticed some fir trees turning yellow on the mountainsides and was quite concerned. Had to ask someone what caused the problem, and found out it's not a problem. lol! Live 'n learn!

Thank you for your wonderful compliment!

Love your framed view of this beautiful place. As to the trees that lose their needles: I have a huge Cypress tree that goes bare in the fall. The ground turns red with the leaves, until I rake them for mulch.

Thank you, Marty! From the vantage point of the sidewalk, there was no way to avoid a street light and a roof in order to get the shot. So, for the first time, I used an oval crop, stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm glad you like what I did with it!
