Thank you for the review. I considered the canon 7D but I'm not into video which is the plus for the 7D if memory serves me.

I curently own both a Sony A100 & a Canon t1i & find I've outgrown them both. I have big hands & find the Sony A100 fits better & it has served me well, now comes the question since I have both canon & sony lens. Which to buy. I know I can pick up a Canon 60D (18-meg) body Refurb. on CLP for around $600 & this camera would meet my needs for years to come but the Navy Exchange is now offering the Sony A65 (24-meg) for $899. no tax. They are both awesome cameras. Can't make up my mind! Help from those who own these cameras.

It sounds like you need a 7D, but since you asked...

If you're not into video, take a look at the Canon 50D.

If you are going the way of the 50D or 60D then you might as well look at the new T4i or wait for the 70D.

Well that is my 2 yr old granddaughter holding a 1951 Robot Star 35mm camera. She loves to sit on Pop Pops lap as I play with cameras. She has her own. By the way, I bought the Canon 60D last night. I got an awesome deal. Their loss but my gain. Now to buy a battery pack for my big hands. LOL

Thanks. Do you have a 60D by any chance? I'm considering an aftermarket battery grip from ebay.

I have a 7D that has a battery I can't out shoot in a day, but when I was looking I saw quite a few cool ones. Some had remotes built into them and other cool tricks. Ask if anyone recommends one, but look, look, look.

Thanks again. I looked gr a long time before I bought the 60D & had considered the 7D but my wallet said no. The 60D will do all that I want for years to come & I got it w/18-135 Lens with nice gaget bag, additional Best Buy waranty & additional Memory card for a total of $850. cash. She gave me the orig. receipt for cash of $1543.05. Also she had never registered the camera so I did. She did not know how to use it & her uncle gave her a $1000. gift card so she bought more camera than she knew what to do with. I hate that she lost all that money but she bought retail & sold used, even if it was only 4 mo's old. I am thankful to have it & told her so. I susgested a point & shoot to her that will do her fine.
