It's a clip on lens hood. Looks like for a 35mm. It's marked M2/35 which is a Summicron. It's worth about $65.00 on ebay

I'd suggest trying to unload it on the Leica forum.

http://www.l-camera-forum.com

The correct hood for the 35 f/2.0 Summicron-M is 12526. The one shown in the second set of pictures is 12501, and the lenses it fits is clearly marked on it.

Of course. It should be obvious even from your first set of no detail snapshots that it is a lens hood.

This has not been my day! The 12526 is for the 35 f/2.0 ASPH lens - the OP is selling a 12524 hood, which is for the older 35 f/2.0 lens. Would have been nice if it had been listed as such the first time around, but no excuse for my oversight. Apologies all round.

No, as long as you have the correct part numbers, they are accurate. Your prices are also about right. Those hoods were originally supplied with the lens, and I don’t believe many extras were made. Hopefully someone here will need them.

As previously noted, these two shades are for Leica M lenses.
The 12501 shade is for the Leica Super Angulon 21mm f/3.4, a later stage varient to the original f/4 version, Leica's first 21mm for the M series. These shades can be found on eBay in the $175-$250 range.
The second shade is for an Elmarit 28mm f/2.8. $150-175 on eBay.
Over the years the lenses and shades get separated from each other so there's a market.
Which leads me to ask you, where are the lenses?

Please don’t give out erroneous information.
Lietz is the surveying equipment company. Leitz (Ernst Leitz Wetzlar) began as a microscope firm, then added binoculars,
cameras (Leica), microtomes, etc to their product line. It has since split up into several separate companies, including one that deals with earth measurements.

This is incorrect. See Dziadzi’s latest posts in the classified section for the two hoods he’s selling, and the three lenses they fit.

Apologies to all, stand corrected as the 12501 does fit the 21/28 and the other does appear to be for a 35mm.
Thank you.
